Argentine judge orders freeze on 25 wallets in $LIBRA probe

An Argentine federal judge has ordered authorities to identify the holders of 25 cryptocurrency wallets and freeze their assets as part of an investigation tied to the $LIBRA token. According to Techub News, citing crypto.news, officials tracked about $8.2 million that moved again in May and was routed through several major exchanges. Investigators said the project team used a “digital smuggling” strategy to split funds, with one wallet dispersing 498,000 USDT across transfers. The report also said $LIBRA collapsed shortly after its launch in February 2025, and that the token’s creator had previously acknowledged controlling about $110 million.

Argentine judge orders freeze of Libra-linked wallets in probe tied to $8.2 million

An Argentine federal judge has ordered the identification and freezing of a group of wallets linked to Libra, according to Odaily. The move follows a tracing effort that began in May by the federal police cybercrime technical unit, which tracked the movement of related funds across multiple crypto networks. The investigation covers eight wallets labeled as belonging to the “Libra team,” with authorities saying the wallets were directly tied to the token’s issuance. A report cited in the case said four of those wallets had consolidated nearly $57 million into a single address. That address had previously been frozen and later unrestricted by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. On May 10, close to $500,000 was moved through an interoperability protocol to a Tron address. Of 17 transfers reviewed, at least 10 passed through Binance, while eight wallets were linked to Bybit, two to OKX, and two to Bitfinex. Part of the $8.2 million under review may be traceable to users through centralized exchange KYC records. The remaining funds are currently managed by Libra Trust, which plans to distribute them as grants to Argentine companies before November. Authorities said 71 applications are awaiting approval.

Argentine judge orders identification and freeze of wallets tied to Libra

An Argentine federal judge has ordered the identification and freezing of a group of wallets linked to Libra, according to ChainCatcher. Investigators said the case involves eight wallets labeled "Libra team" that were directly tied to the token’s issuance. Four of those wallets reportedly consolidated nearly $57 million into one address that had previously been frozen and later unfrozen by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. On May 10, close to $500,000 was moved through an interoperability protocol to a Tron address. Argentine Judge Seeks IDs and Freeze Orders for 25 Wallets Tied to LIBRA Case

An Argentine federal judge has ordered the identification and freezing of 25 cryptocurrency wallets tied to the LIBRA memecoin case, according to a court document reviewed by Clarín. The wallets were routed through centralized exchanges including Binance, Bybit, OKX, and Bitfinex, and the court is seeking KYC records, IP addresses, transaction histories, and other data that could identify the account holders. The order followed a report from the Cybercrime Technical Department of the Argentine Federal Police, which traced crypto movements across networks beginning in May 2026. One police reconstruction cited by Clarín described a mass outflow on May 10 in which 498,539 USDT was moved through an interoperability protocol to a wallet on the Tron network and then split into 17 transfers. Clarín also cited analyst Fernando Molina, who said about $8.2 million had remained idle before starting to move in May 2026 through the wallets now being targeted. Molina said on X on July 14 that the court order is still only a request and, to his knowledge, exchanges have not yet acted on it, meaning the LIBRA-related funds had not been frozen at that point.
