RootData data shows BingX posting the widest spread among top 10 stock-derivatives exchanges

RootData’s ranking data for stock-derivatives exchanges showed that, as of publication time, BingX had the widest spread among the top 10 venues at 0.398%. MEXC followed with a spread of 0.234%. XT.COM posted 0.147%, while Hyperliquid stood at 0.178%, putting both exchanges above the 0.1% mark as well. The spread metric cited in the ranking is weighted by 24-hour trading volume. According to the note carried in the source report, a higher reading on this measure usually indicates higher trading costs. The figures were cited by ChainCatcher in a brief market update. No additional exchanges or rankings were disclosed in the item beyond the named platforms and their spread readings. The snapshot reflects the data available at the time of writing, based on RootData’s stock-derivatives exchange ranking dataset.

DEX Spot Volume Reached 24.14% of CEX Volume in July, a Record in The Block’s Data Series

Decentralized exchanges accounted for 24.14% of centralized exchange spot volume in July, the highest share since The Block began tracking the metric in 2019. The milestone came during a weaker month for trading overall, with both DEX and CEX volumes declining, though onchain activity held up better than centralized venues. According to Blockworks, DEX spot volume fell 26% month over month to $130.77 billion from $177.55 billion in June, the lowest monthly total since September 2024. Daily DEX volume topped $6 billion only once during the month, on July 8. Even so, DEX market share continued to rise after spending most of 2024 below 10% of CEX volume and climbing into an 18% to 21% range through the first half of 2026. DefiLlama data as of Aug. 3 showed Uniswap leading all DEXs by trailing 30-day volume, followed by PancakeSwap and Pump.fun’s PumpSwap. By chain, Solana ranked first, ahead of BNB Chain, Ethereum and Base. Robinhood Chain also emerged quickly after launching its public mainnet on July 1, becoming the fifth-largest chain by DEX volume over 30 days. Blockworks said stablecoin pairs made up about 30% of July DEX activity, while K33 Research said the broader slowdown looked seasonal rather than structural.

Bitget to Exit Japan and Close Remaining User Positions by End of 2026

Crypto exchange Bitget said it will stop offering trading services to residents of Japan and plans to close all remaining positions tied to affected users by Dec. 31, 2026. The platform has already stopped accepting new registrations from users in Japan as of Sunday. Existing users who believe they were incorrectly identified as Japanese residents must complete level-two identity verification and submit proof of address by Nov. 1. If they fail to do so, their accounts will be placed into close-only mode starting that day. Under that restriction, users will not be able to open new positions or access spot trading, futures trading, copy trading, trading bots, or yield products, though deposits and withdrawals will still be available within the platform’s stated limits. Bitget said it will forcibly close any remaining positions on Dec. 31 and suspend bank card services, while asset withdrawals will remain available afterward. The exchange said the move is meant to comply with local Japanese regulatory requirements. The report also noted that Japan recently passed legislation reclassifying crypto assets as financial instruments, and unregistered platforms operating there could face fines of up to about $62,800 and prison terms of as long as 10 years.

2U2.ai says $2U2 will start spot trading on Bitget, KuCoin and MEXC on Aug. 3

AI-driven meme infrastructure project 2U2.ai said its native token, $2U2, is scheduled to go live for spot trading on Bitget, KuCoin and MEXC at 15:00 UTC+8 on Aug. 3. KuCoin is also set to list $2U2 perpetual or futures trading at the same time, according to the announcement carried by ChainCatcher. The token listing coincides with the end of “The Meme Arms Race,” a community incentive campaign that had run for several months. 2U2.ai said it will open claims for an airdrop of 100,000,000 $2U2, with eligible users able to collect tokens through the project’s official channels once the claim window starts. Under the project’s stated rules, users will be able to choose between an “instant claim” option and a “long-term release” mechanism, with each tied to a different return structure. 2U2.ai describes itself as Web3-native infrastructure for meme content creation and distribution, built around a “Create–Share–Earn” model aimed at turning memes into onchain assets. The project said the listing and token distribution will move its ecosystem into the circulation and operational stage.

This Week in Crypto: Hyperliquid’s USDC Revenue Share Nears Launch, Solana Inflation Proposal Heads Toward Vote

Crypto traders are heading into the week with a tight list of catalysts centered on Hyperliquid, Solana, and Circle. The biggest item is Hyperliquid’s revenue-sharing arrangement tied to USDC reserves, which is scheduled to begin accruing on Aug. 26, with the first payment set for Oct. 3. According to prior reporting cited in the source, 90% of reserve income generated from USDC deposits on Hyperliquid will be directed to the Assistance Fund for HYPE buybacks. Estimates from Syncracy Capital co-founder Ryan Watkins put that annual buyback flow at $135 million to $160 million based on roughly $5 billion in current USDC balances, with upside if deposits continue to rise. Solana is also in focus as SIMD-0550, a proposal to increase the network’s annual disinflation rate from 15% to 30%, is said by Helius CEO Mert to be nearing a vote. The proposal would keep the terminal inflation rate at 1.5% while shortening the timeline to reach it. Circle, meanwhile, is set to report second-quarter 2026 earnings on Aug. 5 before the U.S. market opens. Investors will be watching USDC circulation growth and whether the Hyperliquid revenue-sharing arrangement begins to pressure margins. Other items on the calendar include the Aug. 4 claim deadline for the Paradex TAP airdrop.

RootData launches beta ranking for tokenized stock spot exchanges

Web3 asset data platform RootData has rolled out a beta ranking for tokenized stock spot exchanges, adding a new dataset aimed at tracking activity in this market segment. The ranking is built from exchanges’ public trade and order book data, and compares platforms across three factors: trading scale, execution liquidity, and coverage of active tokenized stock products. According to the current table, Binance, Bitget, Gate, OKX, and Bybit rank in the top five. Binance posted more than $460 million in trading volume over the past 24 hours and held a 61.33% market share. In terms of the number of tokenized stocks listed, Bitget, MEXC, and WEEX are the top three. RootData said the range of exchanges and asset types covered by the ranking is still being expanded.

MEXC Chief Strategy Officer Cecilia Hsueh said July 30 was her last working day at the exchange, according to a post she published. Hsueh, previously co-founder and CEO of Morph Network, said she still sees the current period as one in which some of the industry’s biggest opportunities are emerging, even as many people have recently stepped away. On that basis, she said she has decided to return to “founder mode.” She added that more details will be announced later. The statement did not include additional information on her next project or timeline beyond that.
