Aug. 10 Crypto Market Wrap: Unitree Robotics Opens STAR IPO Subscription, CLARITY Act Odds Fall to 21%

Crypto markets on Aug. 10 were driven by a mix of trading data, policy signals, corporate developments and geopolitical headlines. On centralized exchanges, BMT and TUT posted the largest gains among the top 10 tokens by trading volume, while OKX’s 24-hour leaderboard was led by BOME and PEOPLE. On-chain, GMGN’s most watched meme tokens were TODA, REMUS, LOUIE, RISK and PUMPGUY. Away from the tape, Unitree Robotics officially opened subscriptions for its STAR Market IPO, with the market estimating an allotment rate of just 0.02% to 0.03%. In U.S. crypto legislation, Polymarket data showed the probability of the CLARITY Act becoming law by Dec. 31 had dropped to 21%, while Senate procedure points to a first cloture vote on Sept. 15. Industry updates included Bithumb restricting deposits and withdrawals tied to three entities sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control, fresh data showing more than 100 crypto projects have shut down or filed for bankruptcy in 2026 so far, and DeFiLlama figures showing Pump.fun’s 30-day protocol revenue moved ahead of Hyperliquid. Separate updates covered Strategy’s lack of Bitcoin purchases since June, a $10.5 million seed round for Dow Protocol, and proposed South Korean tax and VASP rule changes.

XRP Ledger proposes six amendments aimed at institutional RWA activity

XRP Ledger has put forward six amendments in version 3.3.0, with the proposed changes focused on institutional use cases tied to tokenized real-world assets. According to CoinDesk, the package includes confidential transfers, batch transactions, sponsored fees and reserves, permission delegation, dynamic multi-purpose tokens, and memory optimizations that could cut memory usage by 10% to 15%. None of the amendments are live yet, and each one still needs support from 80% of validators for two straight weeks before activation. The push comes as tokenized real-world assets on XRPL have grown to about $1.38 billion on-chain. Stablecoin RLUSD accounts for $845.7 million of that total. Excluding RLUSD, more than $530 million remains spread across institutional products from Ondo, VERT Capital, Archax, and Societe Generale. The report also noted that Aviva Investors launched a tokenized U.S. dollar liquidity fund share class on XRP Ledger in July. The figures point to XRPL’s effort to move beyond its role as a payments network and build out infrastructure for institutional tokenized assets.

XRPL 3.3.0 adds confidential transfer proposal for institutional tokenized assets

XRP Ledger’s latest software release, version 3.3.0, includes a set of upgrade proposals led by Confidential Transfers, a feature designed to give institutional users stronger privacy on-chain. The proposal would encrypt token balances and transfer amounts while keeping account identities and token types visible. It is aimed mainly at Multi-Purpose Tokens, or MPTs, and use cases tied to tokenized financial assets such as funds and bonds. CoinDesk reported that XRPL currently holds about $1.38 billion in on-chain real-world assets. That total includes roughly $845.7 million in RLUSD. Beyond RLUSD, more than $530 million in tokenized assets on XRPL have been issued by groups including Ondo, VERT Capital, Archax, and Societe Generale. The 3.3.0 release also includes five proposals in total, with Batch, Sponsor, Permission Delegation, and Dynamic MPT named among them. Those changes target institutional needs such as batch transactions, fee sponsorship, permission management, and dynamic token attribute adjustments. None of the upgrades are live yet. They still need support from more than 80% of XRPL trusted validators for two straight weeks before activation.

XRPL proposes confidential transfers for tokenized asset issuers on the network

XRP Ledger’s software version 3.3.0 includes a new Confidential Transfers proposal aimed at institution-facing use cases, with a focus on tokenized financial assets issued on the network. The feature would encrypt token balances and transfer amounts while keeping account identities and token types visible, allowing privacy around transaction size without hiding the asset class itself. The design relies on cryptographic methods such as zero-knowledge proofs so the network can still verify whether a transaction is valid. According to CoinDesk, XRPL currently holds about $1.38 billion in on-chain real-world assets, including roughly $845.7 million in RLUSD. Outside RLUSD, more than $530 million in tokenized assets are already live on XRPL, with issuers including Ondo, VERT Capital, Archax and Societe Generale. Version 3.3.0 also contains proposals covering batch transactions, sponsored fees, permission delegation and dynamic token attributes for Multi-Purpose Tokens. None of the changes are live yet. They still need more than 80% support from trusted XRPL validators for two straight weeks before activation.

Crypto Week Ahead: Circle and SpaceX Earnings, Major Token Unlocks, and Shutdowns for Zapper and Ctrl Wallet

The coming week carries a dense schedule for crypto markets and adjacent sectors. Circle, SpaceX, Hut 8, and American Bitcoin are all set to release quarterly results, while token unlocks for Succinct (PROVE), Ethena (ENA), and Hyperliquid (HYPE) are also on the calendar. At the same time, several products and services are approaching end-of-life milestones, including DeFi dashboard Zapper, crypto wallet Ctrl Wallet, and Polygon liquid staking token MaticX. Exchanges are making changes as well: Binance will stop supporting the Sophon mainnet and migrate SOPH to Ethereum on a 1:1 basis, and Coinbase plans to suspend trading in IDEX, LRC, OMNI, PIRATE, and FIS. The week also includes Polymarket’s shift to TWAP-based settlement for crypto up/down markets, a planned compensation update from AFX Trade after its bridge exploit, and an upcoming XRP Ledger software release that restores revised features previously removed over security flaws. Macro data are also due, with the U.S. set to publish July unemployment, nonfarm payrolls, and wage figures on Aug. 7.

Crypto Week Ahead: CLARITY Act Timeline, SpaceX and Circle Earnings in Focus

The week of Aug. 3 to Aug. 9 is packed with events that could draw attention across crypto, mining and broader risk markets. On the corporate side, American Bitcoin, Hut 8, SpaceX and Circle are all scheduled to release quarterly results, with several management calls and webcasts set alongside the filings. Operational changes are also due, including Zapper’s full shutdown, Ctrl Wallet’s closure, LayerZero’s retirement of its v1 relayer, and Upbit’s delisting of AQT and AERGO. Policy and macro are central to the calendar as well. In Washington, negotiations around the CLARITY Act and a bipartisan ethics counterproposal are approaching an Aug. 7 deadline before the Senate recess, with the bill still needing 60 votes for a full Senate vote. The U.S. July nonfarm payrolls report is also due on Aug. 7, covering unemployment, payroll growth and wage data. Elsewhere, SpaceX’s first major stock unlock is expected on Aug. 6 following its earnings release, Bitcoin News says BIP-110 mandatory signaling may start around Aug. 8, and RippleX says XRP Ledger’s next xrpld 3.3.0 release is planned for next week with five new features for validators.

XRP Ledger to roll out xrpld 3.3.0 next week with five validator features

RippleX Product Lead Jazzi Cooper said in a post on X that XRP Ledger’s next release, xrpld 3.3.0, is scheduled for next week. The update is set to introduce five features for validators: permissioned MPT, batch transactions, permission delegation, fee sponsorship and reserves, and dynamic MPT. Two of those amendments — batch transactions and permission delegation — had previously been pulled on an emergency basis after security researchers found serious vulnerabilities. Cooper also said XRP Ledger is already capable of supporting tokenized assets at scale, and that the upcoming release is intended to expand their use across global transfers, trading, collateralization, and settlement.
