According to Naqvi, the talks focused on the conflict between Iran and the United States, tensions across the Middle East, the direction of future developments, and the steps needed to restore the Islamabad memorandum of understanding in order to ultimately reach a full resolution of the conflict. Naqvi said Pezeshkian presented the Iranian government’s views and concerns during the meeting. He added that the talks made significant progress and concluded in a positive atmosphere. Naqvi also said he hopes the momentum from the meeting can help pave the way for further regional development and lasting peace.
