PA Daily: OpenAI unveils GPT-6 Astra as Nvidia moves to buy Hugging Face

PA Daily’s latest roundup spans crypto markets, regulation, AI, funding, and whale activity. OpenAI formally introduced GPT-6 Astra and said the model may sit close to the point where artificial general intelligence becomes recognizable in hindsight. Nvidia, meanwhile, agreed to acquire AI platform Hugging Face for about $13 billion, a deal that would put its three French co-founders into the billionaire ranks while preserving Hugging Face’s open-platform model, according to the report. In crypto, spot Bitcoin ETFs posted $731 million in net inflows on Sept. 3 U.S. time, led by BlackRock’s IBIT at $454 million. Spot Ether ETFs added another $141 million. Polymarket launched perpetual contracts across crypto, equities, and commodities, while Ethena said its fee switch proposal passed unanimously, clearing the way for programmatic ENA buybacks. The report also tracks a sharp response from AMC CEO Adam Aron, who said Robinhood’s tokenized stock plan involving AMC and more than 190 companies was unauthorized and unregistered under U.S. securities law. Elsewhere, a Guangzhou court ruled that a virtual-currency lending contract was invalid and said losses should be calculated using acquisition cost. Binance Alpha listings, funding for Diameter Pay, Oura’s U.S. IPO filing, and a series of high-return meme-token trades also featured in the day’s developments.

July 27 crypto and tech roundup: BitMart exit plan, Odos shutdown, Robinhood-Crypto.com talks

A wide set of crypto, equity and AI developments shaped the July 27 news cycle. BitMart said it will wind down its exchange in phases, with new registrations, deposits and fresh orders already set to stop and all trading services ending on Aug. 26, 2026, while withdrawals remain open. Around the same time, Odos and Dango each published shutdown timetables, including read-only periods, trading cutoffs and fund withdrawal arrangements. Elsewhere, ChangXin Technology is set to list today at RMB 8.66 per share, with single-lot profit estimates ranging from roughly RMB 12,000 to RMB 20,200 based on different IPO gain benchmarks cited by Chinese media. Robinhood is also in talks with Crypto.com over a prediction-market partnership, according to The Wall Street Journal, and Binance Research said Gen Z is now the largest user group for its equity-linked products, contributing $80 billion in cumulative trading volume. The broader digest also covered Nvidia’s open-weight AI letter, OpenAI and Anthropic’s reported lobbying on open-source models, expected record earnings at SK hynix, Storj Labs’ Chapter 11 filing, a suspected security incident on WEMIX 3.0, and Fidelity’s call for the U.S. Senate to pass the CLARITY Act.

Crypto and policy calendar for the week: central bank decisions loom as shutdowns hit YGG Play, Zero Network, Odos and others

Markets are heading into a packed week from July 27 to Aug. 2, with monetary policy decisions, major U.S. earnings, crypto distributions, token unlocks and a growing list of project shutdowns all landing within a few days of each other. The U.S. Federal Reserve is scheduled to release its FOMC rate decision at 02:00 on July 30, followed by a press conference by Fed Chair Waller at 02:30, while the Bank of England will announce its own decision, minutes and monetary policy report later the same day. On the crypto side, FTX said it will begin its fifth round of distributions on July 31, sending roughly $900 million to eligible claim holders under the reorganization plan, while eligible preferred shareholders are set to receive a second payment. Coinbase plans to suspend Across Protocol (ACX) trading on July 28. Polygon’s Ithaca hard fork is expected to go live on mainnet on July 29, and Binance said it will suspend POL deposits and withdrawals ahead of the upgrade. At the same time, several crypto platforms and products are winding down or closing. The list includes Tropykus, Dango, Odos, Pingu Exchange, YGG Play, Zero Network, Oxium, Exchange Art, Moonbeam-related bridge access, and SBI Crypto’s bitcoin mining pool. Users across these services have been asked to repay loans, close positions, bridge assets out, export keys, or withdraw funds before the stated deadlines.

Weekly project roundup: Worldcoin sells WLD at a 36% discount, Movement files for bankruptcy

This week’s project developments span token sales, shutdowns, hacks, protocol upgrades, and new product launches across crypto and adjacent sectors. Robinhood Chain reached $700 million in onchain assets three weeks after launch, with $430 million in stablecoins and about $500 million in TVL. Worldcoin Foundation sold 217.4 million WLD to institutions including Pantera Capital for about $52.5 million, implying a price near $0.24 per token, roughly 36% below the current market price, with a one-year lock-up. Movement has filed for bankruptcy after its onchain apps generated less than $800 in daily revenue for an extended period since last November, while daily chain fees stayed in the single digits and were just $1 over the past 24 hours. In another major incident, Wanchain’s Cardano bridge was hit by a suspected exploit that moved roughly 515 million NIGHT, valued at about $9 million, out of the bridge vault. Elsewhere, Stripe is in advanced talks to acquire OpenRouter at a valuation that could reach $10 billion. Odos said it will shut down operations and permanently close all services on July 30. Uniswap introduced a v4 Hook standard for permissioned pools, LayerZero partnered with Keeta on tokenized bank-deposit transfers, PumpFun’s developer posted a growth leadership role with a base salary of up to $1 million, and Jito launched the self-custodial Solana trading platform JTX.

Odos to shut down all services on July 30, 2026, after routing $104 billion in volume

Decentralized exchange aggregator Odos said the company operating the platform is winding down and will shut all services on July 30, 2026. Before that date, the Odos app will switch to read-only mode on July 27, allowing users to view balances and transaction history but not execute new trades. The team said Odos never directly held user funds tied to external wallets such as MetaMask, Rabby, or hardware wallets, since those assets remain controlled by users’ private keys. It also warned that users who created wallets inside Odos through Google, Apple, or email login must export their private keys or move assets to a self-custody wallet before the shutdown date. Odos, which spun out of The Graph contributor Semiotic Labs in 2022, has routed more than $104 billion in trading volume across about 15 blockchain networks. The team added that the ODOS token will continue operating separately from the platform shutdown, while Odos DAO remains independent from the operating company and will share its plans later. The project also said there will be no new product, token migration, token claim, or airdrop, and urged users to stay alert for scam messages.

Odos to Permanently Shut Down on July 30 After Routing More Than $104 Billion

Odos, the decentralized exchange aggregator, said it will permanently shut down all services on July 30, 2026, bringing its four-year operating run to an end after routing more than $104 billion in trades. The team said the app will switch to read-only mode on July 27. Because Odos is non-custodial, user assets remain onchain, though users who created wallets through social or email logins must transfer funds or export private keys before the cutoff. The company did not give a reason for the shutdown. It has already disabled new signups, wallet creation, and limit orders, while swaps will continue until the app becomes read-only. Odos also said the ODOS token remains unaffected onchain and that the Odos DAO operates separately from the company, while warning that any post-shutdown token migration, claim, or airdrop offers should be treated as scams. The closure follows a sharp decline in platform volume from its December 2024 peak and comes less than two years after the company closed a Series A round backed by firms including Uniswap, CE Innovation Capital, Orbs, Mantle, and PAKA.
