Oraichain Pauses Network After EVM Cross-Chain Flaw Enables Unauthorized ORAI Minting

Oraichain, an AI layer-1 blockchain, said in a post on X that its network remains suspended after a vulnerability in the EVM cross-chain transfer path triggered unauthorized minting of ORAI tokens. The network was halted at 12:00 on August 9, with cross-chain routers and public interfaces restricted. The team said it has confirmed and is handling the vulnerable path, while related fund flows have been limited. To prevent further transfers and protect affected funds, Oraichain is coordinating with partners and centralized exchanges. An investigation and reconciliation are still underway. The project also plans to burn the unauthorized tokens and coordinate protocol state to restore the ORAI supply.

Oraichain announced on X that it has detected unusual activity on its mainnet. The project advises users not to transfer ORAI or conduct any transactions on the mainnet. The warning was posted on Aug. 9.
