Bitcoin2026-09-20 04:14:54Two long-dormant Bitcoin entities move 200 BTC in transfers tied to early walletsSeveral long-dormant Bitcoin wallets have become active again this month, and Sept. 19 added another notable set of transfers. Before a separate move from a 2011 wallet, four early Pay-to-Public-Key-Hash, or P2PKH, wallets each transferred 25 BTC, for a combined 100 BTC. All four transactions were confirmed in block 967722. The wallets were created in February or March 2013, a period when Bitcoin saw sharp price swings and the Cyprus banking crisis peaked in March. BlockBeats said Bitcoin traded at about $32 on March 1, 2013, and rose to $91.95 by March 31. Ten blocks later, at height 967732, an even older wallet created on Nov. 2, 2011 moved another 100 BTC in a single transaction, shifting the coins from a P2PKH address to a newer Pay-to-Witness-Public-Key-Hash, or P2WPKH, wallet. On-chain data cited in the report showed the original acquisition price for that batch was just $3.24 per BTC. The funds were then fully moved out using a send-all transaction. The report added that the four 25 BTC transfers, which were later consolidated into the same wallet, can reasonably be inferred to belong to the same entity. The final consolidation address was a BitGo-associated P2WPKH wallet.580
Bitcoin2026-08-20 14:15:13Dormant 2014 Bitcoin wallets move 1,214 BTC in 24 hoursA group of long-dormant Bitcoin wallets moved 1,314.41 BTC over the past 24 hours, with the bulk of the activity tied to addresses created in 2014. According to the report cited by Odaily, wallets from that year transferred 1,214.42 BTC, accounting for 92.4% of the total and worth about $86 million at the stated valuation. The transactions included 21 transfers of 50 BTC each, with funds consolidated from legacy P2PKH wallets into new P2WPKH addresses. Some of the transfers were completed in the same block. Arkham’s entity labels did not show any link between the addresses and exchanges. The report also said the 2014 holder’s BTC had been acquired at roughly $310 to $427, implying gains of at least 16,645%. Separately, three wallets created in 2016 moved 79.99 BTC, while two 2017 addresses transferred 20 BTC. The information was attributed to Bitcoin.com News.1210
