Dyson launches CameraJet toothbrush in Taiwan at NT$16,990 with built-in camera and rinse jet
Dyson has unveiled the CameraJet, a toothbrush it describes as the world’s first to combine a built-in camera with a rinse jet, with sales in Taiwan starting Sept. 1 at NT$16,990. Announced by James Dyson in Paris, the device is designed to identify interdental gaps that users often miss during daily brushing. According to Dyson’s release, the system uses "Gap Optical Targeting," processing 28 live images per second to detect gaps between teeth and trigger a targeted mouthrinse spray within 100 milliseconds. The company said the software stack runs on 16 million lines of code and that the machine-learning model was trained on 470,000 dental images over a six-year development cycle. Dyson said laboratory testing showed a 69% improvement in plaque removal in hard-to-clean areas versus a "market-leading premium electric toothbrush." The report, however, noted that the plaque substitute, lab setup and comparison benchmark were all determined by Dyson rather than an independent third party or clinical body. Dyson also said no images are stored on the device or in the cloud, though that claim likewise has not been independently audited in the source material.
