Rip Cars raises $1.5 million in strategic round for Hot Wheels marketplace push

Rip Cars, a Hot Wheels collectible blind-box platform, said on X that it has closed a $1.5 million strategic funding round. Participants named by the project include DBA, Colosseum, Kyle Samani, Novora, Allinbitcoin, Sacha, and Erik C. The company said the new capital will support its plan to build what it described as the world’s largest marketplace for Hot Wheels collectibles. Rip Cars describes itself as the first Hot Wheels blind-box platform globally. It runs on Solana and issued its CARS token through MetaDAO. After opening a box, users can keep the corresponding physical car model, trade it, or sell it back through the platform. The project also said it had previously raised $250,000 on MetaDAO. In an update disclosed on Oct. 28, the team said more than 15,500 packs had been opened since launch.
