Pi Network completes Protocol 26 upgrade as PayPal and RoboPay claims remain unverified

Techub News said Pi Network has completed its Protocol 26 upgrade and described Protocol 27 as the project’s “final planned upgrade.” The project’s MiCA white paper has been registered with ESMA, but claims about partnerships with PayPal and RoboPay have not been verified. The report also said Pi Network has more than 421,000 nodes, PI trades around $0.09, and the circulating supply is about 11 billion tokens. Crypto.news said the network’s infrastructure has made tangible progress, while claimed ecosystem partnerships still appear to outpace verifiable facts.

AEON wraps up TGE and expands exchange listings as it builds a settlement layer for AI agents

AEON, an AI-native payment protocol focused on the so-called agentic economy, completed its token generation event on July 27 and began trading on Binance Alpha, Bitget, OKX, Gate and KuCoin, before adding a KRW pair on Bithumb on July 29. The project says it is building a crypto settlement layer for AI agents rather than another consumer wallet, aiming to support verifiable and settleable payments as agents move from answering questions to making purchases and carrying out tasks on their own. According to data released by AEON on July 28, the network has more than 2.3 million users, monthly transaction volume above $30 million, coverage across nearly 20 emerging markets, access to more than 50 million merchants and cumulative processed volume of $475 million. The company said its stack integrates x402, ERC-8004, Google AP2/A2A and MCP, while local payment rails such as VietQR, QR Ph and Pix help convert onchain payments into fiat received by merchants. AEON also points to protocol ties with Coinbase and BNB Chain, an $8 million pre-seed round led by YZi Labs in May 2026, and a three-stage roadmap that stretches from payment verification to execution verification and, later, broader AI financial services based on KYA credit records.

Fabric Foundation launches RoboPay to turn robot capabilities into paid services

Fabric Foundation has introduced RoboPay, a payment rail designed for machines. The project is aimed at turning robot capabilities into services that can be discovered, invoked, paid for, and verified. At the center of the model is what the foundation calls “pay-to-actuate”: users or systems pay for an action, the payment is verified, the machine carries out the task, and the result is returned. The framework is described as applicable to a range of hardware, including humanoid robots, robotic arms, mobile robots, drones, and cameras. Fabric Foundation also said RoboPay can be triggered by web apps, marketplaces, enterprise workflows, other machines, or AI agents. The announcement was shared by the foundation through its X account.
