Bitdeer and Soluna strike 28 MW joint Bitcoin mining deal

Bitdeer subsidiary Dory Creek will deploy its own Sealminer A2 Pro Air mining machines at Soluna’s Project Kati 1 wind-powered data center in Willacy County, Texas, starting in September 2026. The deployment is expected to bring 28 MW of power online and add about 1.93 EH/s of Bitcoin mining hashrate. Under the revenue-sharing structure, Soluna will handle the site, power supply, and day-to-day operations, while Bitdeer will provide and retain ownership of the mining machines. The two companies will split the Bitcoin revenue generated by that portion of the fleet. Project Kati 1 has a total capacity of 83 MW, and Galaxy Digital is already using 48 MW of the site for Bitcoin mining.

China’s viral flop animation ‘Niu Lai’ sends a same-name meme coin near $30 million on BNB Chain

Chinese animated film Niu Lai opened to almost no audience, posting just RMB 7,169 in box office revenue after nine days and selling a little over 200 tickets, according to BlockTempo. The film then took off online for the opposite reason studios usually hope for: viewers began sharing its rough visuals, awkward plot and stiff animation as a curiosity, pushing it into viral discussion. At the same time, a meme coin using the same name appeared on BNB Chain and surged sharply. GMGN data cited in the report shows the token, identified by a contract beginning with 0xbe...7777, launched on Aug. 13 and started a steep climb around 9 p.m. on Aug. 15. Its market capitalization briefly reached $29.06 million, with a 24-hour gain of more than 40x. The report also said the token had jumped into the roughly $26 million range overnight before falling back to around $20 million later in the morning. BlockTempo noted that the token has no authorization, partnership or endorsement from the film’s producers, director Xin Yumeng or the production company. The article also highlighted a mismatch between a roughly $1 million liquidity pool and a market cap above $26 million, warning that price swings could be extreme. Meanwhile, the film’s own commercial performance reversed sharply, with daily box office and screening counts climbing after the social-media backlash turned into attention.

Mysten Labs Unveils Tessera, a B2B Settlement Prototype With Private Amounts on Sui

In a recent update, Sui announced that Mysten Labs has introduced Tessera, an enterprise-facing B2B settlement prototype. The project is built on a combination of Seal MPC and Sui's private transfer technology. Its stated goal is to solve a problem that has long kept business settlements off-chain: most blockchains make transaction amounts visible to everyone. Tessera operates through an internal corporate network, and only members that have completed KYC verification can join. Within this network, participants settle invoices using a privacy-enabled stablecoin. The system records the payer, payee, and payment time on-chain, but the actual transaction amount remains hidden. In addition, the level of detail available to each viewer is not the same; the two parties to a transaction, competitors, and regulators are given different access ranges, depending on the viewer's relationship to the transaction. The relevant code has been open-sourced. Since Tessera is still a prototype, it is not yet a production-ready settlement service. The open-source release provides an early look at how Sui-based private settlement between companies might work in practice. The original announcement was shared by Sui.

TRON weekly report flags BTC resistance at $65,400 and spotlights Sealcoin and STRATO

TRON’s latest weekly industry report, covering Aug. 3 to Aug. 9, 2026, said crypto markets moved in a choppy recovery as traders focused on U.S. macro data, Federal Reserve policy expectations and key technical levels in Bitcoin. The report said BTC rebounded from around $62,500 to the $64,900-$65,100 range during the week, while ETH outperformed and held near $1,900. TRON said risk appetite improved after weaker-than-expected U.S. labor data, though institutional flows and trading activity had yet to show a clear acceleration, leaving Bitcoin near an important resistance zone. Beyond short-term market moves, the report reviewed sector themes and regulation. It said AI+Crypto has shifted from AI tokens toward infrastructure for AI agents, including on-chain execution, authorization and payment rails, while DeFi continues to move toward institutionalized yield management. TRON also highlighted two projects: Sealcoin, a machine economy protocol built around identity, service discovery, negotiation and settlement for devices such as IoT hardware, satellites and AI agents; and STRATO, a Layer1 application chain and overcollateralized stablecoin system designed for enterprise and RWA use cases. The report also tracked policy developments in the U.S., India and the EU, including the delayed CLARITY Act vote in the U.S., expanded tax transparency rules in India and ongoing MiCA implementation in Europe.

Anthropic and Riot Platforms Seal $9.1B AI Compute Deal; Riot Jumps 25% After Hours

Anthropic has reached a $9.1 billion AI data center compute deal with Bitcoin miner Riot Platforms, according to people familiar with the matter as reported by Bloomberg. Riot will supply 191 megawatts of compute capacity to an AI developer at its Rockdale campus in Texas under a 20-year contract lasting until June 2048. The customer is Anthropic, sources said. Riot expects $9.1 billion in revenue from the contract, with two five-year renewal options that could lift the total value to $16.1 billion. Riot's stock rose 25% in after-hours trading to $24.40 on the news. The pact is part of Anthropic's recent string of large compute agreements, following a $10 billion deal with Volta Infra Holdings and a nearly $45 billion planned purchase from Elon Musk's xAI in May. Riot, formerly focused on Bitcoin mining, is among several crypto miners pivoting into AI and cloud infrastructure. The company also has a separate compute buildout agreement with AMD and said its data center business contributed to revenue growth in the second quarter.

Sui's Seal Enables Keyless Scoped, Temporary and Revocable Regulatory Authorization

Sui announced on X that its Seal feature supports a regulatory authorization mechanism without requiring a master key. Auditors can receive scoped, time-limited, and revocable permissions. Prudential regulators can view all information, tax authorities can access a single member's information, and dispute arbitrators can view disputed transactions only while they remain open. None of these parties are able to transfer funds.
