SmartX CEO says Binance longs worth about $16.5 million are down roughly $2 million

On-chain analyst Ember said in a post on X that the CEO of SmartX claimed to be holding long positions on Binance worth about $16.5 million, with unrealized losses currently standing at around $2 million. The disclosed entry prices for the positions were $82,066 for Bitcoin and $2,524 for Ether. Ember added that, based on those entry levels, the longs may have been opened after a decline around Oct. 10. The SmartX CEO also said that SmartXTerminal, described as a social trading app, is scheduled to launch later this month. The post did not provide additional details on the size of each BTC and ETH position or the timing of any later adjustments.

SmartX founder David says AI should assist, not decide, as retail traders face a harsher survival test

SmartX founder David said in an interview with PANews that artificial intelligence is pushing crypto trading from a search-driven model toward a recommendation-driven one, but that shift will not make trading easier for ordinary users. In his view, AI is most useful when it helps traders understand their own habits, risk tolerance, and preferred assets, rather than acting as an autonomous decision-maker. He warned that polished AI analysis can create a false sense of mastery, leading users to take on larger leverage and position sizes than they can actually handle. David also raised concerns about copy trading. Screenshots of profits, he said, do not necessarily reflect real performance, and many users end up outsourcing trust without being able to verify whether a trader’s record is genuine. He said SmartX is trying to combine the smooth user experience of centralized exchanges with the transparency of onchain data to address that gap. On his own trading approach, David described himself as a medium- to long-term swing trader who keeps roughly 80% of his trading book in blue-chip assets such as BTC, ETH, BNB, SOL, HYPE, and UNI, with the remaining 20% allocated to smaller tokens. He said the rule that matters most for retail traders is survival: do not go all in, understand leverage in the context of total exposure, set drawdown limits, and keep enough capital to stay in the market.

Catalyst opens waitlist, RocX launches testnet, and SmartX starts second-round applications

Odaily’s Oct. 10 roundup highlighted three crypto interaction opportunities tied to Catalyst, RocX, and SmartX. Catalyst, an AI trading agent platform built for retail investors, said users can describe investment ideas and market views in natural language, after which its AI agents research information, build strategies, run backtests, monitor signals, and execute trades with user approval. The project also announced a $30 million seed round on Oct. 8 led by Sequoia Capital, with participation from Jump Trading, PeakXV, Lux Capital, AntiFund, Coinbase, and Premji Invest. RocX, a DeFi platform built around Proof of Activity, said on Oct. 5 that its testnet is now live. Users can claim Base Sepolia testnet ETH, connect a wallet, bind an X account, check in daily for 100 points per check-in, and deposit testnet ETH through the platform. SmartX, described as a personalized social trading app covering meme assets, perpetual futures, stocks, and prediction markets, has opened the second round of its waitlist. The project was also listed among the 24 early-stage companies selected for YZi Labs’ EASY Residency Season 4, with each selected company receiving a $500,000 investment. SmartX said waitlist rankings depend on both join time and Boost, with referrals increasing Boost.
