UTILITY falls back to $7.3 million market cap as 24-hour gain narrows to 18.5x
UTILITY, a stock-themed meme token tied to Binance Wallet trading narratives, pulled back to a $7.3 million market capitalization on Aug. 14, according to GMGN market data. Its 24-hour gain narrowed to 18.5x, while trading volume reached $20.3 million. The token had briefly climbed above the $10 million market-cap mark the night before. The move came as bStocks recirculated an old Jan. 30 post from Changpeng Zhao, or CZ, in which he said GME should issue a utility token on-chain, preferably on BSC. On the same day, bStocks said GMEB, described as the bStocks version of GameStop tokenized stock, is now trading on the platform. BlockBeats noted that UTILITY trades against GMEB rather than more standard liquidity pairings such as BNB or USDT. It described the setup as part of a popular "stock meme" trend on BSC, where tokenized U.S. equities from bStocks are used as the base pool asset. In this case, the pairing leans on the long-running GameStop retail-versus-Wall Street meme stock narrative. BlockBeats also warned that meme tokens often lack practical use cases and can see sharp price swings.
