WinWay posts record NT$1.706 billion in August revenue as shares hit limit-up

WinWay Technology, a Taiwanese maker of probe cards and test sockets, reported August revenue of NT$1.706 billion, up 6.58% from July and 233.37% from a year earlier, marking its third straight monthly record. Cumulative revenue for the first eight months of the year reached NT$9.810 billion, up 97.88% year over year. The company had previously said growth was driven by sustained demand from global AI and high-performance computing customers, with continued orders for high-end Coaxial Socket products and MEMS probe cards. For August, it said AI customers were seeking high-end testing capacity urgently and that it had moved quickly to adjust output. On Sept. 8, the stock opened at NT$7,290, fell as low as NT$6,945 during the session, and then closed limit-up at NT$7,700, up NT$700 from the previous trading day’s close of NT$7,000. The company also said its new Kaohsiung plant is beginning to show results and highlighted its HyperSocket platform for testing challenges tied to large packages, high current, and high pin counts.

Leeno Industrial strike stretches past 34 days as Yamaichi, Yokowo and WinWay draw attention for diverted orders

Leeno Industrial, a major South Korean supplier of semiconductor test components, has been hit by an indefinite strike that has lasted more than 34 days, according to the source report. The company said the walkout is causing daily losses of about 2 billion won, or roughly $1.475 million, and has already forced it to tell key customers including Nvidia, Qualcomm and Broadcom to assess substitute suppliers for items that may not ship on time. The report said the strike began on the 20th of last month as a rotating, department-level action and escalated into a full indefinite strike on the 23rd. Out of 665 employees eligible to strike, 340 joined the walkout. Leeno has reassigned 100 of its 150 administrative staff to production lines as an emergency measure and has stopped taking new orders because even existing delivery commitments are under pressure. Possible beneficiaries cited in the report are Japan’s Yamaichi Electronics and Yokowo, along with Taiwan-listed WinWay Technology. The timing is notable: Leeno had just posted record second-quarter results, with revenue of 143.2 billion won and operating profit of 73.5 billion won. The report added that the bigger concern may be long-term market share loss if customers complete qualification processes with alternate suppliers.
