July 15 market and policy roundup: SK Hynix jumps 22%, Waller says inflation fight is not done

Crypto market leaders and macro headlines moved together in the latest 24-hour cycle. On centralized exchanges, BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP and BNB all posted gains, while ZEC stood out by appearing both in the top trading-volume cohort and near the top of the gainers list. OKX data showed KAITO leading the 24-hour gainers table, while GMGN’s meme rankings featured SJM, BWO, WSB, SMELL and GRBG. Outside crypto, MSX.COM data showed SK Hynix rising 22% to $185.9 per share, setting a record high since listing and lifting its market capitalization to $1.36 trillion. Federal Reserve Chair Waller said the latest CPI report does not mean the job is finished, even as June CPI eased to 3.5% year over year from 4.2% in May. He also said the Fed remains committed to a 2% inflation target and will revisit its 2020 policy framework. Other developments included IBM’s 25% single-day drop, Iran’s statement that the U.S. had entered a formal state of war, a suspected hack of Noxa Fi’s X account, and fresh funding announcements involving Brinc, Flex, Velocity and Nous Research.
