XRP Ledger2026-10-09 04:25:45XRP Ledger activates PermissionDelegationV1_1, allowing task-specific account delegationXRP Ledger activated PermissionDelegationV1_1 on Oct. 8, adding a new delegation model that lets account owners authorize other accounts to carry out specific tasks without handing over the primary key. According to XRPL Dashboard, amendments of this kind require support from more than 80% of trusted validators for two straight weeks. With 35 validators currently counted, that means at least 29 had to back the change. The amendment’s countdown had previously been reset in September after support fell below the threshold. The feature is designed for role separation inside organizations. A stablecoin issuer, for example, can let a compliance account approve new customers while keeping the main key offline. Delegated accounts sign with their own keys and can perform only the actions they were granted. Owners can change or revoke those permissions at any time. Each delegated account can receive up to 10 permissions, and those permissions define allowed action types rather than automatic spending caps. Official guidance also warns users not to delegate the PaymentBurn permission until a separate fix is activated.20
