JINQIAN surged to an $80 million valuation in an hour, then unraveled as stock-paired meme trade drew scrutiny

JINQIAN, a stock-paired meme token on Robinhood Chain, rocketed to an $80 million market capitalization within an hour of launch on the night of Sept. 2, then fell to $10 million in the next hour and later to about $3 million by publication time. The token was paired with FAMI, an on-chain stock token sharing the ticker of Nasdaq-listed Farmmi Inc., a mushroom seller whose U.S.-listed shares briefly climbed to $0.47, up more than 300% in one hour. The episode followed a Sept. 1 post by overseas KOL Rune, who claimed he had spent $1.8 million over the counter to acquire 37.4% of a Nasdaq-listed company with a $4.8 million market cap, a $0.12 share price and 92.3% short interest. He said he planned to tokenize the stock on Robinhood Chain and issue a paired meme coin so token demand would feed back into purchases of the real stock. After JINQIAN crashed, Rune said the posts about buying a U.S.-listed company were Claude-generated "AI slop" and fabricated. The article argues that FAMI was not an official tokenized stock and was not listed in Robinhood’s official contract roster, raising doubts that any on-chain demand was transmitted into the underlying equity. It also examines similar narratives around BONER and HIMS, and lays out why timing, compliance, settlement and issuance structure make the "Meme coin squeezes Wall Street" thesis hard to execute in practice.

Bitcoin's Correlation with U.S. Stocks Lower Than Gold, Treasuries: Bloomberg Analyst

Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas revealed that over the past six months, Bitcoin's correlation with U.S. stocks has been lower than that of gold, small caps, emerging markets, and even U.S. Treasuries. Bitcoin's correlation coefficient stands at around 0.40, while the correlations for gold and Treasuries have risen. He noted the short timeframe but said the data challenges the “Bitcoin only correlates with QQQ” narrative.

Alliance DAO and FOMO founders lay out portfolios: heavy U.S. equities, crypto trimmed to BTC and ZEC

Steady Lads Podcast returned after a four-month pause with an episode centered on something crypto media rarely gets in this level of detail: real portfolio disclosure from market veterans. Alliance DAO founding partner Qiao Wang said roughly 70% to 80% of his capital is in U.S. equities, while his crypto exposure is limited to Bitcoin and Zcash. Tiki described a barbell setup built around the S&P 500, U.S. Treasuries, and about $3 million worth of physical Pokémon cards. Justin said he accumulated spot Zcash after tax-loss harvesting near the $1 area and still holds about 80% of his original Lit airdrop allocation, while Jordy said Bitcoin remains his core position and that he has been taking profit on Hyperliquid because of stretched valuation. Dimma said he holds Near, Grass, and an expanding early-stage AI token venture portfolio. The episode also featured FOMO co-founder Se Yong Park, who said the app is adding about 40,000 new users a day through app stores and that most are not crypto-native. He described mobile token trading as a social game with real-money incentives, and shared user activity figures across Robinhood chain assets, Solana, and Base. The panel also split on macro positioning, with one camp favoring Bitcoin and gold while another preferred U.S. AI stocks over chasing BTC higher.

Robinhood’s On-Chain Ecosystem Draws Capital Into Meme Tokens and Stock-Paired Markets

Robinhood’s on-chain ecosystem has produced a wide range of meme tokens, launchpad projects, NFTs, DeFi protocols and stock-paired markets in less than two weeks, according to an analysis published by TechFlow. As of Sept. 1, the ecosystem had at least 30 meme tokens with market capitalizations above $1 million and 28 application tokens. BONER, paired with a tokenized version of HIMS stock, rose from an $8 million valuation to $80 million in a single day. During the New York Stock Exchange’s weekend closure, the on-chain HIMS token reportedly traded as high as $132, compared with HIMS’ $28.8 Friday close. Artificial Inu, or AI, which is paired with tokenized Nvidia stock, reached a market capitalization of $190 million. Other stock-linked pools included Micron, SpaceX, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing, QUBT, SPY and ZEC-related projects. Infrastructure tokens also gained attention. UP generated about $180,000 in fees from Aug. 31 to Sept. 1, while PONS, HOOKR, INDEX, DENAR and PICKLES represented launchpad, liquidity, stock-distribution, lending and AI-trading themes. The analysis also covered MARKETPLIER, launched after Markiplier became GoPro’s largest single shareholder, and several smaller sentiment-driven tokens.

KOSPI pares losses to 0.1% as local broker says pension funds bought late-session tech shares

South Korea’s benchmark KOSPI briefly erased an earlier drop that had reached 3.6%, then traded down 0.1%, according to Odaily. Samsung Securities stock sales trader Roy Lim said pension funds stepped in late in the session to buy KOSPI component stocks, with a focus on technology names. Lim said the funds were net buyers of KRW 120 billion worth of shares within 20 minutes. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix were little changed after both had earlier fallen more than 4% and later recovered those losses. Flow data cited in the report showed retail investors were net buyers of KRW 785 billion in KOSPI stocks, while foreign investors were net sellers of KRW 931 billion. The small-cap KOSDAQ index also cut its earlier decline, narrowing from 4% to about 0.8%. The report attributes the late rebound in the benchmark index in part to pension-related buying described by the Samsung Securities trader.

Bitcoin Reclaims $80,000, but Altcoin Season Signals Are Still Missing

Bitcoin has rebounded from roughly $63,000 in mid-August to around the $80,000 mark over the past week, briefly touching about $81,000 before settling into a range near $78,500 to $79,500. The move marks the first return above $80,000 since May, with a weekly gain close to 25%, making it one of the stronger single-week performances in recent years. According to the article by Claude of TechFlow cited by MarsBit, the main driver behind the rally has been spot demand, especially through U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds. Weekly net inflows into spot Bitcoin ETFs reached about $1.9 billion to $2.0 billion, one of the strongest weekly readings since October 2025. BlackRock’s IBIT accounted for a large share of those flows, with several single-day inflow readings exceeding $200 million. Spot Ethereum ETFs also posted visible inflows. Market breadth has improved as well, with more than 80% of the top 100 tokens climbing back above their 50-day moving averages, up from around 36% a month ago. Still, the piece argues that the setup does not yet qualify as a full altcoin season. Bitcoin dominance remains near 59% to 60%, and the Altcoin Season Index is only at 38 to 49, far below the commonly watched threshold of 75. The report’s conclusion is that this is still a Bitcoin-led recovery supported by institutional spot buying, while the rebound in leverage and sentiment warrants caution.

Bitcoin rebound lifts MSTR and STRC as gold, PURR and Unitree draw trading attention

On Aug. 21, BlockBeats said this week’s market focus shifted from AI earnings to macro conditions and crypto assets. Bitcoin’s rebound on improving regulatory expectations pulled Strategy and related preferred shares back into view, while gold stayed supported by safe-haven demand and dollar moves. In China, Unitree’s STAR Market debut kept trading active. MSTR rose about 4.37% on the week after Strategy said it would use equity proceeds for its Bitcoin treasury and add dollar reserves. STRC gained about 2.53% as investors tracked its variable-dividend preferred structure. PURR jumped about 33.65%, while GLD advanced about 2.63% and Unitree fell about 20.42% from its first-day close.

Citi says growing profits in U.S. equity longs could set up profit-taking if growth data weakens

Citi said in its latest positioning report that investors have continued adding to long U.S. equity exposure since the start of August, leaving some trades in what the bank described as a profitable but more fragile state. After earlier gains in benchmarks including the Nasdaq 100 and the Russell 2000, paper profits have widened, increasing the risk of profit-taking if growth or consumer data starts to soften. Citi strategist David Chew said U.S. equity exposure kept rising through August, helping drive a rebound in both the Nasdaq 100 and small-cap stocks. At the same time, he noted that the pace of fund inflows has slowed, suggesting momentum behind chasing the rally has cooled. The report also highlighted that nominal long exposure in the Russell 2000 has climbed to a three-year high, with average unrealized gains of about 2.5%, making those positions more sensitive to shifts in macro data after positive catalysts have already played out.
