Ethereum spot ETFs saw $320.1 million in weekly outflows, with redemption pressure far above Bitcoin’s

U.S. spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds posted net outflows of about $320.1 million during the full trading week from Oct. 12 to Oct. 16, according to daily data compiled by Farside Investors. Over the same period, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded net outflows of roughly $228.4 million. The headline gap looks modest in dollar terms, but the difference becomes much sharper after adjusting for fund size: based on SoSoValue figures cited in the source, Ethereum spot ETFs held $14.946 billion in net assets as of Oct. 16, versus $104.290 billion for Bitcoin spot ETFs. That puts weekly outflows at about 2.1% of assets for ETH products and about 0.2% for BTC products. The source says the Ethereum-side selling was heavily concentrated in BlackRock’s ETHA, which accounted for about $299 million of the week’s outflows, or more than 90% of the total. Fidelity’s FETH posted small inflows on two days, while Grayscale’s ETHE and the Grayscale ETH Mini Trust showed mixed flows. The report also stresses a key distinction often missed in ETF coverage: net creations and redemptions are not the same as changes in net assets, because asset values also move with the underlying token price. Using the same week as an example, a 3.6% drop in ETH would have erased about $540 million in net assets on a $14.946 billion base, more than the actual redemption figure.
