AC Milan beat Udinese 2-0, and head coach Ruben Amorim turned his attention after the match to injuries and the fixtures ahead rather than the Ballon d'Or. Milan now face a league match against Bologna and then Inter on Saturday in the Derby della Madonnina.
Amorim on the Ballon d'Or
When asked who might win the award, Amorim told DAZN: "I have no idea. If it is not a Milan player, I am not interested."
Amorim also said: "I am thinking about who will survive to play again in two days. If it is not a Milan player, I do not care anyway."
Injuries and squad concerns
Amorim said: "I think it is impossible with this schedule at the moment… Everyone has injuries. So all the players have to be read. My job is not only to win, but also to guarantee a future for Milan. We have a lot of injuries, and these players have shown me that they are ready to handle the pressure of playing for this club. I am really happy; when they are on the pitch, I am the one responsible, and I want them to do welly."
GOAL reported that recent blows to Mario Gila, Adrien Rabiot, and Diego Moreira add to existing absences for Matteo Gabbia, Alexis Saelemaekers, Samuel Chukwueze, and Filippo Terracciano.
Limited time on the training pitch
Amorim said: "We have to work on many things. But I am proud because we did not have time to work on what went wrong in the last match. We practically did not have the opportunity to work on the pitch, but only through video. To tell the truth, in recent weeks we have practically not been training, so I am really proud."
Matches ahead
Milan face a league match against Bologna, followed by Inter on Saturday in the Derby della Madonnina.
