Barcelona called up the Egyptian Hamza Abdelkarim for their UEFA Youth League phase meeting with Aston Villa on 2 November. Before the match, Barcelona had four points from a possible nine.
Abdelkarim added to the squad
Barcelona added Abdelkarim to the youth squad with a view to handing him his first appearance in the competition. Abdelkarim did not complete group training on Monday.
What GOAL said about Toncara
GOAL reported that, according to Spanish newspaper Sport, Ibrahima Toncara would also join the squad. Toncara trained on Monday under Pol Planas and had recently been involved in first-team sessions under Hansi Flick.
Toncara's European eligibility
He cannot feature in the Champions League with the first team because he fails to meet the conditions for registration on List B, which demand two consecutive years at the club since turning 15. At 16, and with no place on List A, the UEFA Youth League remains Toncara's only route into continental football.

Gabriel Jesus and Raphinha are now fully available among the professionals.
