Corinthians said on Sunday via their official website that Memphis Depay participated in partial group training as the club issued an injury update before the November 4 derby against Sao Paulo. GOAL reported that Depay is increasingly expected to make the matchday squad for the Majestoso derby.
Depay back in partial training
Corinthians confirmed that Depay took part in part of the group session. He had missed Corinthians' previous two matches because of muscle oedema in his right hamstring.
Providing a comprehensive fitness update in an interview with Corinthians TV, club physiotherapy coordinator Bruno Gorgatte said: "Memphis participated partially today. Having recovered, he followed all clinical protocols and continues his transition."
Lingard remains in individual recovery
Jesse Lingard has begun light outdoor work as he recovers from fractured ribs. GOAL reported that Lingard has only been cleared for non-contact warm-ups so far.
Gorgatte added in the same interview: "Raniele and Gabriel are continuing treatment for their injuries; they are already out on the pitch doing physiotherapy work. Lingard took part in the warm-up, but continues doing individual work away from the group to avoid contact."
Raniele and Gabriel Paulista update
Gorgatte said Raniele and Gabriel Paulista are continuing treatment for their injuries and are already out on the pitch doing physiotherapy work.
