Alessandro Costacurta said while on Sky punditry duty for Milan's Serie A game at Udinese on Sunday that he likes the attitude the team are showing on the pitch, but is still not seeing a Scudetto team. Milan won 2-0 away to Udinese on Sunday and are unbeaten after eight matches of the 2026-27 Serie A season.
Costacurta's verdict
Costacurta said: "I’m seeing players who are following their coach in a very particular way. I like the attitude they’re showing on the pitch. However, I’m still not seeing a Scudetto team. I think there are a couple of other sides ahead of them at the moment, but it’s really early and this is a team that is showing promise."
What he is noticing
Costacurta said: "That’s what I see, a team with promise. A lot of running forwards. What I’m noticing is this offensive drive, not just when they have to recover the ball, but also when they’re trying to build. I believe that this is the biggest difference they’ve shown so far. They go at it all the time."
Serie A standings
Inter, Lazio and Roma are also unbeaten after eight matches of the 2026-27 Serie A season. Football Italia said it is the first time in history that four sides have gone eight matches unbeaten at the start of a new Serie A campaign. Football Italia said Milan's win over Udinese drew them level on points with the third-placed Roma and left them four points behind Inter and Lazio in the top two positions.
Praise for Bartesaghi
Costacurta said: "Bartesaghi had a wonderful game. I was enthusiastic about his performance because he got himself involved so much and always did so with quality. It seems like that’s the plan: Attack whether you’re on or off the ball."
