Simone Inzaghi missed Al-Hilal's post-match press conference after a 2-0 win over Al-Fateh on Saturday evening in the twelfth round of the Saudi Roshn Pro League because of a throat problem. The Italian appeared in the journalists' area and pointed to his throat, signalling that the pain was too severe for him to speak.
Farris takes press duties
Inzaghi handed the press conference duties to his assistant Massimiliano Farris. Farris confirmed that Inzaghi was struggling with a throat problem.
Travel and recovery
Farris said Al-Hilal had arrived straight off a trip for an AFC Champions League fixture. He said that left the players short on recovery, while Al-Fateh had 8 days to ready themselves.
Farris on the match
Farris said Al-Hilal could have wrapped the game up earlier but got the job done with a 2-0 win. He also said the coaching staff had worked hard to stop Al-Fateh's attacking transitions, particularly the threat posed by Mourad Batna and those around him.
