Matthias Jaissle said Lewis Miley and Fernandez-Pardo remain doubts for Newcastle United's Carabao Cup clash with Everton on Thursday night. The Newcastle boss said both players will be assessed over the next two days before a decision is made on whether they can be included in the squad.
Doubts remain before Thursday
Jaissle said: "These two players are still doubtful. Question marks on if they can make it for Thursday night. We need to see step-by-step over the next two days to decide if they’re able to be in the squad or not."
No additional risk
Jaissle said: "With both of them, we don’t want to take any additional risk and, hopefully, they are getting back soon."
Livramento continues rehabilitation
Jaissle said Tino Livramento is continuing his rehabilitation.
Jaissle said: "I don’t want to put too much pressure on him but also the medical department. That is usually my approach when it comes to injuries."
He added: "I can just assure you that I see him every day with a great professionalism in his rehab, hard-working, so hopefully we have him back soon and that he is stable in his approach when he is joining us."
