Lazio beat Sassuolo 6-2 away in Serie A to move top of the table. Sassuolo played part of the match with 10 men after Kristian Thorstvedt was sent off for a studs-up challenge on Mattia Zaccagni.

How the goals came

Kenneth Taylor scored for Lazio in the second minute, but Thorstvedt equalised for Sassuolo five minutes later. Gustav Isaksen restored Lazio's lead six minutes after that.

Romano Floriani then scored his first senior Lazio goal. Sebastiano Esposito scored for Sassuolo before the break, and Zaccagni added a goal in first-half stoppage time.

Two penalties saved

Stefano Turati saved a penalty from Zaccagni after Simone Cinquegrano was penalised for handball in the box and, following a VAR review, referee Luca Zufferli pointed to the spot.

Turati also saved a penalty from Davide Frattesi after Lazio were awarded another penalty when Duje Caleta-Car pushed Isaksen down in the box.

Late goals and standings

Tijjani Noslin scored Lazio's fifth goal and then their sixth. The result moved Lazio three points clear at the top of the table.

Inter were due to play away at Venezia on Wednesday. Sassuolo are winless in five Serie A games, with one draw and four defeats, and the loss left them in 14th.

Man of the Match

Flashscore named Mattia Zaccagni as its Man of the Match.
