Manchester United are tracking four centre-forwards for January after, according to Laurie Whitwell, Benjamin Sesko is out until at least January through a shin injury. Nicolo Tresoldi, Jean-Philippe Mateta, Igor Matanovic and Dion Beljo are on the club's shortlist.

Sesko injury update

Laurie Whitwell wrote on X: "Confirmed: Benjamin Sesko out until at least January through shin injury."

Whitwell also wrote on X: "Period of rest is required so striker is fully healed."

Sesko missed the end of last season with a shin injury. He returned to full fitness over the summer, only for the problem to return against Brighton in September, and he has been out of action ever since.

Tresoldi among the options

Tresoldi is one of the four centre-forwards being tracked by Manchester United. He has scored 12 goals in 14 matches for Club Brugge this season.

TEAMtalk had revealed that Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are primed to battle for Tresoldi. TEAMtalk reported that Manchester United will also face competition from Chelsea and Manchester City for him.

Tresoldi is valued at around £42million.

Other names on the shortlist

Mateta is also on Manchester United's shortlist and could be available for just £25m in January as his contract is running down.

TEAMtalk had confirmed that Manchester United are holding internal talks over whether to move for Matanovic.

TEAMtalk said sources had told it that Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have all been impressed by Beljo.
