Real Madrid beat Racing Santander 3-0 in LaLiga, and Jose Mourinho praised Trent Alexander Arnold after the match. An injury to club captain Fede Valverde forced Mourinho into a change at right-back in Cantabria.
Mourinho's verdict on Trent
Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho said: "Trent was really good today. He hasn't played in a while, and he comes out and drops a masterclass; that's what happens when a team is confident and trusts each other."
The right-back decision
Mourinho had previously hinted at his preference for Valverde over Trent as a long-term option. Mourinho said: "I thought Trent, with his technical skills, was the best option for this game, but that could change in other matches."
What comes next
Real Madrid's next match is a UEFA Champions League trip to AEK Athens on November 4. Real Madrid then have a league trip to Valencia four days later.
