PSV beat Willem II 7-0 in the Eredivisie on Saturday, a result that put pressure on league leaders Feyenoord. With the win, PSV cut the gap to Feyenoord to two points and were temporarily in second place.
Changes in the line-up
Willem II had sacked manager John Stegeman earlier that week. Peter Bosz welcomed back Sven Mijnans in the starting XI, while Yarek Gasiorowski made his first league start of the season.
How the goals came
Mauro Junior opened the scoring for PSV, and Guus Til doubled the lead on the brink of half-time. After the break, Mijnans made it three to nothing and Ruben van Bommel added the fourth with a header.
Ricardo Pepi returned to action after being out injured since September and scored a header. Kodai Sano made it six for PSV, and Shuryjano Cornecion scored with 10 minutes remaining.
Chance for Willem II and the record
Willem II had a chance to score, but Uriel van Aalst hit the bar. PSV had seven different goalscorers, while Willem II suffered their joint-worst defeat in Eredivisie history.
