Where to Play Bingo in NYC: Fixed Venue Locations

The nearest documented venue is 16.0 straight-line miles from New York City

The venue documented nearest to New York City is Yonkers Raceway & Empire City Casino, at 16.0 straight-line miles from the city's coordinates. Straight-line means great-circle distance, measured as the crow flies between two fixed points on the earth's surface.

Road distance is always longer than straight-line distance. This article does not publish driving mileage, travel time, highway numbers, or turn-by-turn directions for any venue. The figures below tell you which venues sit closest to New York City and by how much, not how long it takes to reach them.

Documented straight-line distances from New York City

Ten venues are documented in the reference set with measured distances from New York City's coordinates. The table below lists every one of those measured pairs, with the measurement type stated for each row.

Every figure in the table is a documented great-circle distance. None of them is a road distance, and none should be read as a travel time. The list is ordered from nearest to farthest as measured in straight-line miles.

Why straight-line distance understates the actual trip

A great-circle line ignores everything that stands between two points. Terrain, water, road networks, and state boundaries all force a real journey to be longer than the straight-line figure.

New York City sits on the Atlantic coastal plain, bordered by water on multiple sides. A straight line from Manhattan to a venue in Pennsylvania or New Jersey may cross the Hudson River, the East River, or the Newark Bay complex. No road follows that line; a driver must route to a bridge or tunnel, and that routing adds miles.

Road networks also follow historical settlement patterns and topography. The Pocono Mountains, where Mount Airy Casino Resort sits, introduce elevation changes that a straight-line measurement ignores. A route into the Poconos climbs and curves; the crow's path does neither.

State boundaries add another layer. A venue in Pennsylvania is reached by roads that cross from New York through New Jersey or directly into Pennsylvania, and the crossing points are fixed. The straight-line figure does not care where the crossings are; the driver must.

Where each documented venue sits relative to New York City

Yonkers Raceway & Empire City Casino is documented in Yonkers, New York, immediately north of the New York City border. Its coordinates place it northeast of Manhattan, across the city line in Westchester County.

Parx Casino and Racing is documented in Bensalem Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, northeast of Philadelphia. From New York City, that places it to the southwest, across the state line in Pennsylvania.

Wind Creek Bethlehem is documented in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania. Its coordinates place it west of New York City. Mount Airy Casino Resort is documented in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania, in the Pocono Mountains, which places it northwest of New York City.

The remaining documented venues sit farther out: Monticello to the northwest in New York State, Valley Forge to the southwest in Pennsylvania, Ocean Casino and Showboat to the south along the New Jersey coast, and Delaware Park to the southwest in Delaware.

If your question is "near me," the venue is fixed and your position is not

This article cannot measure distance from your current location, because your location is not part of the reference data. What is fixed is each venue's documented coordinates and the city of New York's coordinates. The table above measures from New York City's coordinates only.

To measure from your own starting point, take the venue's documented city and state, then use a mapping tool that accepts your own address as the origin. The tool will return a road distance and a travel time, which this article does not publish.

The straight-line figures here are useful for ranking which venues sit closest to New York City as a fixed point. They are not a substitute for a route calculation from wherever you are.

What the venue set does and does not include

The reference set documents 481 venues in total, and it is not a complete list of casinos in any city, county, state, or country. This article lists only the venues for which a measured straight-line distance from New York City is documented. There may be other bingo-capable venues closer to or farther from New York City that are not in this set.

For a complete current list of venues in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or any other state, consult the gaming regulator for that state. The regulator's published list is the authoritative source, and it changes as venues open, close, or change ownership.

Bingo availability at these venues

This article documents physical locations, not game schedules. Whether a specific venue offers bingo, on which days, at which hours, and at what buy-in is not part of the documented facility data supplied here. Slot machine counts, table game counts, hotel room counts, and gaming square footage are documented for some venues, but bingo schedules are not.

A venue's own website, its guest services line, or its published events calendar is the channel that carries current bingo information. Confirm bingo availability before travelling; it is the kind of detail that changes by season and by property.

What to confirm before you go

Before travelling to any of the venues listed above, confirm the items that change and that this article does not publish. The venue's own booking page, hours page, and guest services line are the authoritative channels.

• Whether bingo is currently offered, on which days, and at which session times.
• The buy-in or entry structure for bingo sessions, if one applies.
• Current operating hours for the gaming floor and any bingo hall.
• Parking availability and any parking fee structure.
• Whether the venue is on tribal land, which can affect applicable rules and taxes.

How to read the distance figures correctly

The straight-line figure is a comparison tool, not a trip plan. A venue at 16.0 straight-line miles is closer than one at 64.6 straight-line miles, and that ranking is reliable. The actual road mileage for either trip is a separate number that depends on the route chosen.

Do not convert straight-line miles into minutes. No travel time is published here, and no straight-line figure implies one. A short straight-line distance across a river can involve a long road detour; a longer straight-line distance along an interstate corridor can be a faster drive.
