DEX aggregator 0x said the number of malicious Uniswap v4 Hooks has risen noticeably in recent weeks, with some Hooks showing attractive quotes during the pricing stage and then changing execution prices at settlement. According to 0x, that behavior can siphon value from users through aggregators, wallets, and trading apps.
The firm said it analyzed 84,163 Hooks across six blockchains. As of Sept. 11, only 19.4% were classified as safe, while 54.2% were labeled malicious and another 26.4% were considered likely malicious. 0x added that in some trades routed through malicious v4 Hooks, the amount users actually received was as much as 50% lower than the quoted amount.
0x also said it has routed 81.92 million trades so far this year, representing $42.67 billion in volume, with about 70% of those trades involving Uniswap liquidity. The company said it has already introduced detection systems and liquidity pool review measures to keep the malicious pools out of its routing flow.

The company said it has now put detection measures and liquidity pool screening procedures in place to block the related malicious pools from entering its routing system.
