Market Rumors and Founder's Clarification
Stani Kulechov, the founder of Aave, took to social media to address recent market rumors and inaccurate reports. He firmly denied any plan to sell AAVE tokens at a 70% discount. According to Kulechov, some market participants had discussed purchasing a portion of Aave Labs' AAVE holdings through a deep long-term partnership, but the media coverage misrepresented those discussions. The founder emphasized that Aave has no intention of engaging in a distressed sale at a steep discount.
Revenue Distribution: 100% to AAVE Token
Kulechov clarified that under the existing proposal, all revenue generated by the Aave protocol and the GHO stablecoin is allocated to the AAVE token. This includes revenue from all product lines such as Aave App, Aave Pro, and Swaps. Aave Labs, acting as a service provider for the DAO, does not participate in any protocol or product revenue. The current annualized revenue of Aave stands at approximately $134 million, all of which flows to the Aave DAO treasury, governed by the community. Furthermore, all intellectual property—including the Aave brand and related software—belongs to the AAVE token, ensuring that token holders retain core economic rights and control.
Aavenomics 3.0 and Future Roadmap
Kulechov also announced that the team is actively designing Aavenomics 3.0, a major upgrade to Aave's tokenomics. This version will feature automated, non-discretionary buyback mechanisms designed to sustainably support the token's value and ecosystem health. In the coming weeks, a quarterly call will be held to update the community on development progress and governance discussions. The clarification not only alleviates short-term market uncertainty but also reinforces Aave's long-term commitment to transparent and community-aligned economic design.
