American libertarian and anti-war activist Adam Kokesh has officially entered the 2020 U.S. presidential race with a radical platform: upon taking office, he will sign a single executive order to peacefully dissolve the entire federal government. To spread his message ahead of the Libertarian National Convention, Kokesh has launched a fundraising campaign called 'Operation Big Easy Book Bomb', aiming to raise $143,000 to print and deliver copies of his 2014 book Freedom! to every residential mailbox in the New Orleans metropolitan area.

The Book Bomb: Dissolving Government in an Orderly Manner

Kokesh describes his platform as a blend of Ron Paul's libertarian principles and Vermin Supreme's unconventional approach. He plans to deliver approximately 205,000 copies of Freedom! just before the Libertarian Party's national convention, each book including a letter detailing his 2020 campaign agenda. "The platform is simple — When elected, I will swear in, walk to the White House, and sign one executive order. This executive order will lay out the process for dissolving the federal government in a peaceful, orderly manner," Kokesh stated. "With it, I will be resigning as President to become 'Custodian of the Federal Government.' The executive order will appoint heads of each federal department, or 'Custodians,' who will be instructed to carry out a mostly predetermined plan for their departments. The only authority I will retain is to replace Custodians if they are unable to complete their responsibilities or are not faithfully executing the plan."

The fundraising will be fully transparent, with all transactions recorded on Steemit and other public platforms. The campaign runs from March 15 to March 25, 2018, offering three sponsorship tiers: Historic Sponsorship ($3,000+), Millennial Sponsorship ($700), and Centennial Sponsorship ($70). All funds will be used exclusively for the New Orleans book delivery, with any surplus directed toward a future city target.

Fueled by Cryptocurrency

While Kokesh also accepts PayPal donations, the campaign's financial engine is heavily crypto-driven. The Book Bomb accepts contributions in a wide range of digital assets, including Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Dash (DASH), Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin Core (BTC), Litecoin (LTC), and Monero (XMR). Several crypto-native organizations — including Steemit, Dash.org, Bitcoin.com, and the Libertarian Party — have publicly backed Kokesh's initiative.

Reflecting on his inspiration, Kokesh explained: "When I was in jail for civil disobedience and surrounded by all the great libertarian books that friends had sent me, I realized that we needed one ultimate conversion tool — So I combined all of their best features into one, easy-to-read, 100-page proclamation of 'Freedom!'" He believes that mass distribution of a physical book can catalyze a shift in public consciousness toward support for abolishing the federal government.

The Book Bomb campaign has sparked considerable debate within libertarian circles. Proponents hail it as an innovative grassroots marketing tactic that leverages cryptocurrency's decentralized ethos. Critics, however, question the feasibility of dissolving a centuries-old federal apparatus and the efficacy of mailing books to influence voters. Regardless, Kokesh's crypto-fueled project has emerged as a notable subcultural phenomenon in the 2018 U.S. political landscape.
