Alibaba Cloud’s large model team, Qwen, said it will open-source and release the weights for Qwen3.8, an ultra-large-scale model with 2.4 trillion parameters. The team said the model’s overall capabilities are comparable to the most advanced AI models and, by its own assessment, rank just behind Fable 5. A preview version, Qwen3.8-Max-Preview, is already available on Alibaba Token Plan, Qoder, and QoderWork, giving developers early access for testing.
