Critical Bug in Alkanes Protocol Enables Unlimited DIESEL Minting
According to ChainCatcher, community user @CG_BRC20 reported a severe bug in the Alkanes protocol that enables attackers to mint unlimited amounts of the protocol's DIESEL token. A specific address has already exploited the vulnerability to mint 100 million DIESEL tokens out of thin air. The official Alkanes Espo block explorer and the third-party interface Subfrost are both unable to display the affected assets. Holders are advised to exercise caution.
The Alkanes official Telegram group admin temporarily responded that funds are safe, but no specific fix timeline or scope of impact has been disclosed. This on-chain protocol-level unlimited minting bug poses a potential threat to DIESEL token supply and price. Users are recommended to immediately verify their holdings and avoid trading the token until the project releases a full security report.
