Capital and trader attention are rotating into altcoins as Bitcoin’s recent surge reshapes market activity, according to CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost. Over the past week, the total market capitalization of altcoins excluding Ether rose by about $135 billion, pointing to a rapid inflow of funds into the sector. Trading data also shows a sharp shift in participation. On Binance, which accounts for nearly 40% of exchange altcoin trading volume, altcoins made up as much as 65% of total volume at peak levels, while Bitcoin and Ether represented 21% and 13.6%, respectively. Darkfost said this marks the highest altcoin share of Binance trading volume in two years. At the same time, the Altcoin Impulse market breadth indicator jumped to 93%, suggesting the rally has spread across most areas of the market. The indicator also treats readings above 75% as overextended, a level that may signal the current move is approaching exhaustion or a pullback.
