Amazon and Nvidia said Amazon plans to deploy about 2 million high-end Nvidia chips across 2027 and 2028 to train and run artificial intelligence models. The announcement adds to Amazon’s earlier disclosure from March this year, when the company said it would install 1 million Nvidia chips in Amazon Web Services, or AWS, data centers. The chips involved in the latest deployment include Blackwell Ultra, Rubin and Rubin Ultra graphics processors. The update points to a large-scale buildout of AI computing infrastructure over the two-year period outlined by the companies.
