According to monitoring by Arkham, the trading account of crypto KOL and Instagram influencer Andrew Tate on Hyperliquid was forcibly liquidated eight times over the past 24 hours. The liquidations were tied to his Bitcoin-related positions and occurred as the account carried substantial leverage within a short trading window.
A $100,000 deposit used for large Bitcoin positions
Data cited by Arkham shows that Andrew Tate deposited $100,000 into the account and then created a Bitcoin long position of approximately $3.8 million. At the same time, he also opened a Bitcoin short position of approximately $1 million. The presence of both long and short exposure formed a highly leveraged hedged setup, with the total notional size far exceeding the capital deposited into the account.
As Bitcoin prices moved sharply, market direction repeatedly diverged from parts of his position structure. This caused the account’s positions to trigger liquidation more than once. Arkham’s monitoring indicates that the account was forcibly closed out eight times within a 24-hour period, making the sequence of liquidations the central detail of the reported activity on Hyperliquid.
