Germany’s financial regulator BaFin has rejected the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) license application filed for Bitcoin.de, the cryptocurrency trading platform owned by Bitcoin Group SE. The platform’s trading services have been largely suspended since June while its operator waited for MiCA authorization. The company is now seeking to work with a regulated partner in an effort to restart the service. Separately, a MiCA license application submitted by futurum bank, another banking entity under Bitcoin Group SE, had also previously been rejected by BaFin.
