Binance has announced a strategic partnership with Anchorage Digital, a digital asset custodian, to further expand its tri-party banking product network. The core of the collaboration is the integration of Anchorage Digital's Atlas settlement platform — an institutional-grade digital asset settlement and custody solution — into Binance's exchange infrastructure. This marks the first time Atlas has been connected to a cryptocurrency exchange.
Through this integration, eligible institutional clients can execute trades on Binance while their assets remain securely held in Anchorage Digital's independent qualified custody accounts. This structure, known in traditional finance as "custody and execution separation," allows assets to stay under the custodian's control throughout the trading lifecycle, reducing counterparty risk and enabling delivery-versus-payment (DVP) settlement.
The partnership also enables qualified institutions to use crypto assets, interest-bearing USD accounts, and specific tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) as collateral, broadening the range of acceptable collateral types for margin trading. This move positions Binance to better serve institutional investors who require compliance-grade custody without sacrificing exchange liquidity.
