Odaily reported that Binance has responded on X to reports concerning its European Union licensing status. The company said it remains committed to serving users in Europe and will continue to operate in accordance with applicable laws. The response centers on Binance’s efforts to obtain operating authorization under the Markets in Crypto-Assets framework, known as MiCA.

User arrangements as the MiCA transition period nears its end

Binance said that, as the MiCA transition period approaches its conclusion, it is adopting a prudent strategy that places users first. According to the company, the purpose of this approach is to reduce the impact of any business adjustments as much as possible. Binance said it will provide users with further arrangements and available options after it receives more information.

The company stated that it plans to issue an additional update by June 30, 2026. Binance did not disclose specific business adjustment details in this response. Instead, it linked future disclosures to the progress of the MiCA authorization process and ongoing regulatory communication, while saying it will continue to keep users informed.

Greek review and ESMA-level assessment

Binance also said it has maintained constructive engagement with regulators over the past 18 months and has actively participated in the MiCA approval process. Based on its understanding, the Greek regulator has completed its review of the relevant application and considers it to meet MiCA requirements.

The company added that the same application has also been reviewed at the level of the European Securities and Markets Authority, or ESMA. Binance said that any delay or deviation in the MiCA authorization process could weaken market liquidity, competition and user choice, and push some activity outside the European Union.

Binance said it will continue seeking a compliant operating path under the MiCA framework. The company also reiterated that it will continue to serve European users in accordance with applicable laws and provide further information once additional details are available.
