CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost said Binance’s stablecoin reserves have dropped to $41.9 billion, marking the first time the exchange has fallen below the $42 billion threshold since October 2025. Binance still holds more than 70% of all stablecoins kept on exchanges, but its reserve balance has been trending lower since November 2025. According to Darkfost, the decline points to investors cutting market exposure and pulling stablecoins off the platform at the same time that demand remains weak. He added that softer demand has also led the platform to reduce reserves because there is less need to hold as much stablecoin inventory. In his view, the move reflects persistent bearish sentiment in the market, and any reversal in the trend would require a broad recovery in demand.

PANews reported on Aug. 12 that CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost said Binance’s stablecoin reserves have fallen to $41.9 billion, the first drop below $42 billion since October 2025.

Reserves have been declining since November 2025

Darkfost said Binance now accounts for more than 70% of the total stablecoin balance held across exchanges, while its own stablecoin reserves have been in decline since November 2025.

Analyst links the drop to weaker demand and lower exposure

He said the decline shows that investors are reducing market exposure and withdrawing stablecoins from the platform. At the same time, weak demand has led the platform to trim reserves because there is less demand to support them.

Darkfost said the trend reflects persistent bearish sentiment in the market. For that trend to reverse, demand would need to recover broadly.
