Stock-themed meme coins on BNB Chain have moved into focus after Binance Wallet added a dedicated "Stock Meme" section on Aug. 1, grouping related tokens from BNB Chain and Robinhood Chain. Attention had already picked up on July 30, when MarsCoin was listed on Binance Alpha and Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao, or CZ, said on X that he supports all meme coins and may buy or sell one or two meme tokens in the coming weeks to test new features. He did not mention MarsCoin or stock-themed meme coins by name, but the timing drove speculation in the market. The article explains that these so-called stock meme coins are still on-chain meme tokens rather than equity instruments, with no ownership or business ties to companies such as SpaceX or Nvidia. Their main difference from ordinary meme coins lies in the trading pair: instead of BNB or USDT pools, they use bStocks U.S. equity tokens such as SPCXB, NVDAB or SPYB. Odaily also highlights the largest names in the category by market value, including MarsCoin, BiYou, GPU and JACKET, and outlines the narratives attached to each token, from Mars and Elon Musk to Nvidia, AI infrastructure and Jensen Huang’s signature black leather jacket.

Over the weekend, meme trading on BNB Chain started orbiting U.S. equity themes. MarsCoin is tied to SpaceX as a narrative, while GPU draws on Nvidia. They are still meme coins, but instead of the usual BNB or USDT trading pairs, they use stock tokens such as SPCXB and NVDAB.

The theme moved into wider community view after Changpeng Zhao, or CZ, brought up meme coins again on X.

On the afternoon of July 30, MarsCoin was listed on Binance Alpha. Within hours, CZ posted on X that he supports all meme coins and may buy or sell one or two meme coins in the coming weeks to test some new features.

CZ did not mention MarsCoin, and he did not point to stock meme coins specifically. Still, both events happened on the same day, which was enough to trigger speculation over whether MarsCoin is only the beginning and which token from the segment Binance could pick next.

Then on Aug. 1, Binance Wallet launched a standalone “Stock Meme” section, bringing together related tokens from BNB Chain and Robinhood Chain. After that update, trader attention shifted from chasing MarsCoin alone to looking for the next stock meme token that could make its way to Binance Alpha, or even to Binance’s main exchange.

What stock meme coins are

This wave of stock meme coins is different from an earlier generation of meme stocks in the U.S. market, such as GameStop and AMC. Those were listed company shares. The “stock meme” assets shown in Binance Wallet are still on-chain meme tokens, with no equity or business relationship to companies such as SpaceX or Nvidia.

The main distinction versus ordinary meme coins is the trading pair. In the past, meme launches on BNB Chain usually used BNB or USDT as the pool asset. Stock meme coins replace that with bStocks U.S. equity tokens. Users who want to buy these meme coins first need to enter the matching stock-token pool.

In short, stock meme coins are a group of meme tokens built around listed U.S. companies, founders and product symbols, while using stock tokens as trading pool assets or as holding rewards. The stock side provides the theme and a liquidity asset. Price movement is still driven by capital flows and sentiment inside the meme market.

Four of the largest names in the segment

In the newly added stock meme section in Binance Wallet, there are currently seven meme coins with market capitalizations above $1 million. Only four are above $5 million: MarsCoin, BiYou, GPU and JACKET.

MarsCoin: reported market cap of $30 million

MarsCoin remains the leading token in the stock meme segment and the only one among the four that has already entered Binance Alpha. Its market capitalization once rose above $50 million and was reported at $30 million at the time referenced in the article.

In 2021, CZ wrote during a discussion with Elon Musk about a Mars currency, “Looks like we will have a MarsCoin. In foresight, it is inevitable.” Musk later replied that there will definitely be a MarsCoin in the future. The BNB Chain version of MarsCoin has now revived that old line from CZ, effectively restarting a meme that had been dormant for five years.

MarsCoin was issued by Flap and trades against SPCXB, a SpaceX stock token. Users pay a 3% tax when buying or selling MarsCoin. Part of that tax is converted into SPCXB and distributed to users who meet the required holding threshold.

The token sits on three layers of narrative at once: Mars, Musk and SpaceX. It also adds SPCXB rewards for holders, plus the traffic that came with the Binance Alpha listing and speculation over a possible future spot on Binance’s main platform.

BiYou: reported market cap of $11 million

BiYou’s full name is “Why run around when Binance has everything,” and it was also issued by Flap. Its trading pair is SPYB, a stock token tied to the S&P 500 ETF. The token’s market cap once reached $16 million and was reported at $11 million.

Binance’s Chinese-language official account had previously used the slogan “Why run around when Binance has everything” while promoting products related to traditional finance ETFs. The phrase “BiYou” works both as an abbreviation of the full sentence and as a reference to Binance’s expanding asset footprint.

In the past, Binance was mainly known for cryptocurrency trading. Now stock tokens, ETFs, real-world assets, and on-chain assets are also entering wallet and trading interfaces. In that context, the appearance of “Binance has everything” lines up with a newer user impression of the platform: whether someone wants crypto exposure, stock-linked products or meme trading, the products sit within the same ecosystem.

Using SPYB as the trading pair makes that slogan more complete. MarsCoin points to SpaceX. GPU points to Nvidia. BiYou does not bet on a single company and instead ties itself directly to the S&P 500. The narrative is broader than a move in one stock.

After the stock meme section went live, the slogan picked up another round of organic circulation.

GPU: reported market cap of $11 million

GPU comes from Four.meme and uses NVDAB, a Nvidia stock token, as its trading asset. Its market cap once climbed above $35 million and was reported at $11 million.

After MarsCoin gained traction in the community, Four.meme quickly rolled out a Stock Meme feature of its own. Projects launching tokens on the platform can directly choose bStocks U.S. equity tokens as the trading pool asset. The first available asset was NVDAB, linked to Nvidia, with more U.S. stock underlyings set to be added later. GPU became the earliest stock meme coin to attract attention after that feature launch.

Over the past few years, Nvidia’s share price rise, AI model training and data-center expansion by technology companies all converged on one hardware demand point: GPUs. The meme coin uses that three-letter term directly as its name, making the target of the trade obvious at a glance.

Once GPU was paired with NVDAB, each meme trade also brought on-chain demand to NVDAB. Capital that is bullish on AI, Nvidia and compute expansion can buy NVDAB directly or move into the more volatile GPU token.

GPU’s rapid surge in market cap also pushed the stock meme trend on BNB Chain beyond Flap and into Four.meme. That made stock meme coins more than a single-platform experiment and turned them into a direction launchpads began competing over.

JACKET: reported market cap of $6 million

Another higher-valued stock meme coin launched on Four.meme is JACKET, whose full name is REAL WORLD APPAREL. It also trades against NVDAB. Its market capitalization once touched $10 million and was reported at $6 million.

The project’s image is a black leather jacket, an obvious reference to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. Over the past few years, Huang has repeatedly appeared at product launches and developer events in black leather jackets. The outfit gradually became tied to Nvidia, GPUs and the AI boom, turning into one of the most recognizable symbols in the technology sector.

JACKET and GPU share the same NVDAB theme, but they take different paths. GPU leans on AI compute demand and Nvidia’s products. JACKET is built around Jensen Huang’s personal image and internet culture.
