Michael Selig, chair of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, said at a White House cryptocurrency meeting early today that more details on the agency’s future regulatory path will be outlined at the first meeting of the CFTC’s Innovation Advisory Committee scheduled for tomorrow. Selig said the path is intended to give innovators greater certainty and help strengthen market confidence over the coming decades. He also argued that innovation depends on regulatory clarity, saying clear rules build confidence, confidence draws investment, and investment creates jobs, strengthens U.S. markets, and helps keep top global talent building in the United States.
