Andreas Antonopoulos, one of the most prominent Bitcoin educators, has confirmed that he will appear on the Joe Rogan Experience (JRE) podcast for the fourth time. The announcement came via a Reddit post in the r/BTC subreddit, sparking excitement across the crypto community.
"I have been invited to go on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast for the fourth time. Please join me, live, on September 7th. The JRE podcast now has almost double the audience it had last time I was on, more than a year ago. Joe is as excited about bitcoin as ever and we have a lot to discuss," Antonopoulos wrote. His previous appearances were in early 2014 (Episode 446), shortly after in Episode 490, and in December 2014 (Episode 581).
Rogan's Evolving View on Crypto
Joe Rogan, known for his UFC commentary, stand-up comedy, and hosting the long-form podcast, has shown growing curiosity about Bitcoin over the years. During his last episode with Antonopoulos, Rogan remarked: "In a sense what these banks can use bitcoin… It’s almost like an ability to send and exchange money without using the money itself, they send [value] through bitcoin and money can be transferred to whatever their local currency is or not." Interestingly, Antonopoulos once offered to set up a wallet and send Rogan some bitcoin, to which Rogan replied: "Not so sure about that, not so sure about that."
A Changed Landscape Since 2014
Much has changed since Antonopoulos' last JRE appearance. 2015 was dubbed the "Year of the Blockchain," with major corporations entering the crypto space to experiment with the technology. Bitcoin's price has risen from around $300 in late 2014 to over $600 by mid-2016, alongside growing network hash rate and user adoption. Antonopoulos remains a key advocate for Bitcoin and open blockchain, regularly speaking to corporate audiences about the technology's potential to reshape finance. His previous JRE appearances introduced countless listeners to Bitcoin for the first time. With the audience now doubled, the upcoming episode is expected to reach an even larger mainstream audience.
