BlockBeats reported on June 18 that, according to HTX market data, Bitcoin fell below the $63,000 level and was quoted at $63,032.51, with a 24-hour decline of 4.24%. The move came as traders again referred to the so-called “FOMC curse,” a pattern linked to Bitcoin’s performance following Federal Open Market Committee meetings.
Analysts had previously pointed out that since the beginning of 2025, Bitcoin has posted clear declines after seven of the eight FOMC meetings. The FOMC is the Federal Open Market Committee of the U.S. Federal Reserve, and its meetings are commonly watched by crypto market participants for signals related to dollar liquidity and risk-asset pricing conditions.
In addition to the FOMC-related pattern, the continued de-pegging of STRC has added to market expectations that Strategy will sell Bitcoin again. Current HTX pricing cited in the report shows Bitcoin trading near $63,000, while its 24-hour loss remains above 4%.
