TechFlow reported on June 17 that Bitget has integrated Fireblocks Off Exchange to support institutional-grade off-exchange settlement. Under the integration, institutional users do not need to transfer assets to the trading platform before executing trades. Instead, they can trade through an on-chain MPC shared wallet while maintaining self-control over their assets and gaining full access to Bitget’s liquidity and execution environment.
On-chain MPC wallet links custody control with execution
The integration centers on connecting the way institutional users control funds with the way they execute trades. Fireblocks Off Exchange uses an on-chain MPC shared wallet structure to support the transaction process, allowing institutional clients to retain asset control while arranging trades. For Bitget, the arrangement gives its institutional users access to the platform’s liquidity and execution capabilities without requiring the same asset-transfer process between separate custody and exchange systems.
Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said that, for institutions, the way capital is deployed is equally important. She stated that the integration further strengthens Bitget’s institutional service capabilities under its UEX framework by bringing trade execution, fund management and risk control into a unified operating environment. Her comments place the cooperation within Bitget’s broader institutional service structure rather than presenting it only as a standalone settlement connection.
Separation of custody and execution as the focus
Fireblocks Vice President of Network Richard Astle said the separation of custody and execution is becoming a baseline expectation for institutional participation in the digital asset market. According to Astle, the collaboration improves transparency, reduces institutional clients’ risk exposure and provides a more flexible and secure participation model for institutional-grade capital. His remarks focus on the shared institutional requirements around asset control, execution efficiency and risk management in digital asset trading.
Based on the disclosed information, the Bitget and Fireblocks cooperation is built around institutional off-exchange settlement, on-chain MPC shared wallets, self-directed asset control and access to the exchange execution environment. The integration combines Bitget’s liquidity and execution setup with the Fireblocks Off Exchange settlement structure, with the stated service target being institutional users and the operational focus placed on fund management and risk-control workflows.
