Bitget Stock+ has launched a Short Options feature, adding support for both short call and short put strategies on the platform. The update allows users to collect option premiums through selling options, which Bitget says can help improve capital efficiency and enable more flexible allocation of U.S. stock assets.
The company also outlined the obligations tied to each strategy. As an options seller, a user selling a call option takes on the obligation to sell the underlying stock at the strike price in the future, while a user selling a put option takes on the obligation to buy the underlying stock at the strike price in the future.
According to the announcement, the feature is available during U.S. Eastern Time pre-market hours from 4:00 AM to 9:30 AM and regular trading hours from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
