BNB Chain's latest tech roadmap outlines a dedicated Layer 1 blockchain for AI agent trading, targeting 50ms pre-confirmation, 100K TPS, and no public mempool. Testnet launches late 2026, mainnet in early 2027.

BNB Chain has released its 2026 H2 Tech Roadmap, placing on-chain AI trading at its core. The team confirmed a brand new Layer 1 blockchain built exclusively for AI agent activity, with mainnet targeted for early 2027. This marks one of the clearest signals yet of where Binance blockchain infrastructure is heading.

Why a Separate L1 Instead of Upgrading BSC?

The current BNB Smart Chain already hits roughly 5,200 TPS with 450ms block times after its latest upgrade. But AI agents executing trades, rebalancing portfolios, and moving payments need split-second decisions that a general-purpose blockchain stretches to its limit. Solana's Firedancer already demonstrates what a dedicated environment can do. Rather than forcing changes onto the main layer and disrupting its operation, BNB Chain is building a parallel system that coexists without interference.

Speed and Security: 50ms Pre-Confirmation, 100K TPS, No Mempool

The technical targets are bold: transaction pre-confirmations within 50 milliseconds, final confirmations within 1 second, throughput of 100,000 TPS, and notably — no public mempool. Removing the public mempool shuts down front-running and sandwich attacks, vulnerabilities that AI agents cannot afford.

BNB Chain CTO David Z said the goal is an execution experience comparable to a centralized exchange, without sacrificing self-custody or on-chain transparency. That balance defines the real test behind this roadmap.

BNB Price Near $568, Long-Term Demand Logic

BNB trades near $568 (24h range $560–$570), far below its all-time high of $1,370, but still among the top 5 by market cap at $76.7B. Infrastructure news doesn't move prices overnight, but a dedicated blockchain for AI agent activity introduces a new demand driver. More agents mean more transactions, meaning more usage of BNB Chain.

The ecosystem already hosts over 150,000 active AI agents. If the new chain delivers on its speed targets, BNB Chain gains a real edge in a segment where most networks haven't fully solved the problem.

Timeline: Testnet Late 2026, Mainnet Early 2027

Testnet launches by the end of 2026, followed by mainnet in early 2027. BNB Chain has already deployed Agent Studio for one-prompt agent deployment, plus identity and payment standards for agent-to-agent activity.

Quantum-Resistant Research Integrated Early

The platform also confirmed research into post-quantum security, leveraging account abstraction to enable quantum-safe migrations once the technology matures. No firm timeline exists yet, but weaving quantum resistance into the architecture from day one — while building a new L1 — is a forward-looking move rather than a retrofit.
