According to a ChainCatcher report citing Coinglass data, Bitcoin's current 8-hour average funding rate across the network is a mere 0.001%, near historical lows. Among major exchanges, the rates diverged: Binance posted -0.0015% and Bybit -0.0036%, while OKX stood at 0.0021% and Gate at 0.0015%. The overall near-zero rate indicates a balanced open interest between longs and shorts. In perpetual futures markets, a positive funding rate means longs pay shorts—reflecting bullish leanings—while a negative rate signals that shorts pay longs, indicating slightly bearish pressure.

The slightly negative rates on Binance and Bybit show a marginal advantage for shorts, but with such tiny absolute values no clear directional signal emerges. This funding environment keeps carry costs minimal, reinforcing a phase of subdued volatility and an ongoing tug-of-war between bulls and bears.
