ChainCatcher reported that, according to Coinglass data, BTC’s current average 8-hour funding rate across the network stands at 0.0003%. The figure refers to the average funding rate level for Bitcoin perpetual contracts over an eight-hour period.
Funding rates across major exchanges
Among major exchanges, Binance currently shows a BTC funding rate of 0.0066%, while Gate shows a BTC funding rate of 0.0022%. Both readings are positive. On the other side, OKX records a BTC funding rate of -0.0029%, and Bybit records a BTC funding rate of -0.0015%, both of which are negative.
A funding rate is the periodic fee exchanged between long and short positions in the perpetual futures market. A positive funding rate generally indicates that longs pay shorts, while a negative funding rate generally indicates that shorts pay longs.
